What's On
Here’s just a small sample of what’s happening at Yallo
Open House
We’re here, we’re open and you’re welcome! Yallo is a community centre with a difference. It’s part lounge room and part workshop, with a dash of feel-good vibes straight out of your favourite aunty’s kitchen. There’s space to hang out, to chat, to work, to think, to share, all in the heart of Dalyellup. It’s your space. Come say hey!
RYDE at Yallo
Having trouble finishing your 50 hours of driving experience? The RYDE Program provides young people who are experiencing barriers to completing their drivers licence with the opportunity to complete their 50 hours of supervised driving experiences. The RYDE Program can connect you with one of our volunteer ‘Driving Mentors’ and program vehicle so that you can get your Licence and all of the opportunities that come with it.
The RYDE sessions are about gaining experience and improving skill rather than the initial stage of ‘learning to drive’. If you are experiencing difficulty completing your log book hours, contact a local RYDE provider who can assess your eligibility and set you up as a RYDE participant.
After the RYDE assessment, learner drivers are required to pay a small fee of $15 per 90 minute session. Sessions are paid for using credit codes bought through the RYDE website with PayPal, a credit card or debit card. Your RYDE Provider can help to explain this part of the process.
Play Cafe with Yallo
Play Cafe with Yallo is a play experience, where children learn through fun, creative and imaginative encounters developed by our experienced Play Leader, in their local school. Supported by the school’s Education Assistant, the Play Leader creates innovative experiences each week based on the interests and likes shown by the children attending.
Play Cafes are designed with the ethos of bridging the gap from toddler years to school by connecting local families with their school in a positive and fun experience.
It’s a great place to meet local families attending the school in your community and to have fun with your little one.

HIPPY
Children’s earliest and most powerful learning comes from their family. Through a structured education program, HIPPY helps empower parents to lay the foundations for success at school by teaching their child literacy, numeracy and language skills as well as physical skills in a fun and informal home-based environment.
HIPPY, Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters, is a two year program beginning the year the child turns 4. Parents are supported by Tutors who have already completed the program as parents themselves, to shape their child’s learning opportunities around their strengths and interests; and to bring learning off the activity pack page and into the world.
HIPPY children work through weekly or fortnightly packs of play-based, educational activities with their parents and family. They are encouraged to ask questions and try new things; developing their confidence and passion for learning, which enables school-readiness.
It is a free program that helps children make a successful transition to school and beyond.

Power Me Up
Power Me Up is a youth mentor project funded by the Department of Communities and hosted by Yallo.
Our participants work one-on-one with the Yallo crew to power up their work skills. They’ll create their own activity, designed specifically for their peers, and we’ll help them to make it happen in real life! The participants will be involved in every aspect, from design and development through to hosting and evaluation.
We’ll also cover resume writing and their workplace expectations and rights to power them up for future employment.
Parenting Programs
At Yallo, we offer a variety of evidence based and acclaimed programs that support the needs of parents from different backgrounds with different experiences to feel competent and confident in their parenting decision making, so they can raise resilient and happy kids.
Our parenting programs don’t tell you how to parent. They give you a range of tools and strategies for you to adapt to suit your family.
Programs available as advertised.
